Just collected my 2555 after service at Patek and I noticed this Patina which I dont recall being there earlier. I was not even aware that a case could patina like this. Is this normal on a case? Should it be left as is? Any advice is appreciated. Thank y...  

Gold stains when it is stored for a long time, especially in safes or places with abundant humidity, but you can remove it easily, with a CAPE COD cloth, wipe it lightly and with a clean one, remove it and remove it instantly. regards.

Cape Cod cloth as I read the original post. They are pretty amazing.

Just go over it once and then it disappears immediately? I have used cape cod in the past but never for or on watches.

Yes, of course, just use a cloth and remove gently, without polishing, It can be buffed if necessary for any scratches if you wish, but just the impregnated liquid that the cape cod comes with is enough to remove that patina very easily. use Cape Cod and ... 

Hello - I ordered the cape cod cloth and since I was in Geneva, I decided to go back to Patek and they showed me pics when I dropped it off which show the patina at that point too. Strangely I cannot remember but the watch has been with Patek for 9 odd mo...  

did pp say if they did any case/lug repairs. if it was gold staining then the crown would also be stained-but is new and shiny -replaced/changed at service? can not see from the photo-is the screw caseback also stained or just the case body? what does the...

the case could of been annealed-before pp did any case work that was required on the service. working on an old gold case without annealing can cause cracking/splits etc
