Hi there,
I might be mistaken, but if memory doesn't fail once again, it's something to do with the slightly increased dial thickness for enamel dial. "H" beeing indicative for "haute" french for high.
But I'll try to get some bettre info on that.
Meanwhile, you might have a look (and listen :-) ) here....posted by Thomas some time ago. Hope the file's still present.

Dear ALL i am wondering about this for a while.... at the end of ref 3939 there is the letter "H" what does this letter stands for ?? regarding the direction of the pushers, there is suppose to be a word which represents the slide when it pushes clockwise...

.... in the picture left is ref. 5029 - but the right one is indeed a ref 3939H red lettering (at least that's what I thought I know :-) ) BTW, here's the sound file of the 5029 seen in the picture left - but attention, the picture shown in the mpeg file ...
