Patek Philippe

I think 5123R

is a fantastic Calatrava having a clear Patek DNA. It has a very different case construction compared with other Calatravas and both the dial and the profile of the watch look very good.

It's often complained that cal. 215 is too small... It is both slim and small but why should it be bigger? The accuracy of this movement beats COSC standards clearly and it is nicely finished. Furthermore, the back of 5123 looks good even the movement is not big.

PP normally try to make the movements as slim and small as it possible taking into account the strength of the movement. If they could increase the diameter of a simple manual winding movement, could they still make it as slim as 215?

I would love to own 5123R but the question is: What about you?

Best, Kari
