It is a great watch
Hi John,
you have good taste - it is a fantastic watch!
It is the classic design of the ref 96 but it is much larger and thus wearable.
I have one in my collection and I enjoy it very much.
They have been built with different movements and dial designs.
They come along with Cal. 12-120, 12-400, even 27-AM 400 (the amagnetic movement) if I recall correctly - all of them with sub second. There are also center sweep seconds - mostly 27 SC - I am not 100% sure but I think it can also be found with the scarce 12-120 SC (indirect center second). I have seen them in yellow, white and rose gold - so there is a great variety to choose from and I think there is one for every taste ;-)
But the negative is that they are very hard to come buy in good condition as they are sought after by collectors and mostly purists 
and the price is not low at all ...
