well, taste is a very individual matter. the 5196 is, like the 3738, simple, elegant, understated, pure, zen. i can wear it hidden beneath my sleeve, everyday and almost in every situation. to the untrained eye, it may just look like a ... better swatch (someone at work actually complimented me for wearing my "new swatch").
the 5970 is -of course- an exceptional watch! don't get me wrong here., but it is bigger and heavier, and ... much more expensive. the 5196 was not by any means "cheap". now, beauty is priceless, of course. and of course, i bought the watch for my own indulgence and shouldn't care what other think. the 5970 doesn't go unnoticed, a look at it reveals that it is a very expensive thing, not bling-bling, but yet expensive. i find it harder to stay "under the radar" and wear it discretely.
anyway, i'll keep you posted about the ups and downs of my love affair with the 5970.
