Clasp

Hi Anaroku, the 5990R's new clasp is similar to the 5740G's, which is in turn similar to the Aquanaut range & new ladies Nautilus 7118A & R. To my eyes, the blue is close to that of the 5980AR but I must say it changes in different lighting & directions

Yes the new 5990R and 5740G share the same new "butterfly like" double clasp ... for me this is the biggest practical improvement to the Nautilus range and I hope they do so for the rest of the Nautilus series. Pity the 5711-014 will be the old clasp ...

a little different system?

I can take a look at the press material if I find something, but I have yet to see the 5990R in person (my trip to Milano is postponed to June 16 because of the curfews ;-) Hopefully an owner can address your question before I do :-) Cheers.

In fact, if you look at the clasp of 5168G closely, you can see the two small hooks/ claws, just opposite to the side buttons. I think it is the same as the new nautilus clasp, just the part of calatrava cross is slightly different.
