I have own both watches and have had the Aquanaut since 97. Do everything with it and never had it serviced. It is really a durable watch. I had the old Nautilus and the now have the 5711 with no issues. Having owed far too watches I can say I do not do heavy dirty chores or sports wearing a nice watch. I fell off a bike once and really did not hurt anything but I destroyed an 18K Bark Finish Rolex Jubilee bracelet watch in the process.Treat an expensive as you would treat a nice car. Beat it to death and it will not serve you long. The old advice to only service a watch if its timekeeping changes is the true for Pateks. Far too many of my watches have come back from services from the various manufacturers service departments without gaskets, wrong hands, not working, so that I do not  take services as matter of fact thing simply because 4 or 5 years has run..

Hello, I can assure you that a 5711 would be a great everyday watch. I have been wearing the 5712 for 3 months and it has been a pleasure to wear and so comfy. The shiny links do not scratch like my Daytona does and the watch still looks great (like new) ...

You probably refer to 5167, the Aquanaut. It is sportier than the 5711 which, in my opinion, is more appropriate for daily wear. I personally find 5711 a bit more comfortable to wear because of its thinner case and bracelet. It depends on your dressing st...

Both watches are certainly ones to consider however, be aware that these are not watches that can withstand a lot of hard wear as a sub would. Everyday wear is fine as long as you're not going to be chopping down trees or the like. Service with take appro...
