Prduction started in 1976 with the 3700/1. There was also a 3700/11 which came a bit later to the market. The 3700/1 and 3700/11 were almost the same but the 3700/11 had a smaller bracelet. About the production numbers. They made more or less 3600 pce of the 3700/1 and about 1500 of the 3700/11. It was 10 years in production, ended in 1986

But that has happened to a lot of us who have had opportunities and passed on them for a number of reasons only to look back at what they could have had. The value of the 3700 today? Quite a bit more than the two watches for you and your wife.
A special movement.
If I am not mistaken that Nautilus uses the caliber 28-255, which is regarded as a very special movement. That adds to its desirability.
