.... sometimes the total number of movements may NOT always represent the total number of watches sold.  The article you read of 4000 pcs, could be total number of watches that has been recorded which were sold through various auctions, that is how such number has become. 

One good way to deduce if 14000 pcs of 12SC movements exsist, is to come up with the various references which uses this movement or the number of models.  ie. ref. 96, ref, 530, ref. 570, ref 565, ref. 560, ref. 1491, etc, etc...if you can establish that piece of info, it will make your job easier. 

I suspect, Patek will have spare movements for the use of make repairs and maintenance watches brought in for service, 4000 pcs doesnt sound like many, but consider the era 12SC is used, give and take a few....possible.

Your information refers only to sub-seconds movement

.... 12 SC movement are for watches which carries a center seconds movement, slightly different, nevertheless, i thank you for your input. Back to the drawing board .... !

was for central second hand, just like the 27 SC, and the others are cal. 12" 120. ... but that number 864.866 bothers me, maybe you can halp to fill in this table...

Hi all, In the number charts this particular serial number shows for info: "various calibers"... I have a simple explanation for the non existing number in the official number charts section for 12 SC: The bridge has been swapped and most likely it derive...
