Thanks for the precisions, the only source I have is the auction where it was presented.
However, what you say makes me think it is strange to say the case is prototype as it seems to be the part of the watch (with the movment) that remains the same from the regular 3700...
The whole watch should be called "prototype", exactly because of the white dial, don't you think?
From the posts herebellow, it seems to be confirmed: it is "the case together with the white dial" which is called prototype.
I think the word is not really appropriate anyway as a protoype is usually a pre-prod version used to set the definitive characteristics of a watch designed to be produced: which is not the case here.
They just wanted to mention on the papers that it is not a regular model.
So prototype or not, in the end, I think that contemplating this beautiful 3700 version is what finally matters!
