Honestly, I don't know what to say to you. Firstly, this has been a totally unacceptable approach by more than one so-called Purist to your post. I am appalled and ashamed of what has happened to you. As a Moderator, I try very hard to keep this type of thing off any forum and try equally hard to maintain a high standard of etiquette and good manners. On this occasion, I was away with my family since Friday and so was not able to do what I would have done had I seen this. I apologise to you directly and publicly.
I know I have absolutely no right to ask anything of you, but I would stress that allowing the absurd and stupid comments from this thread to lead you away from what can be a tremendously rewarding forum would be a shame. Vintage Patek is a very big part of the forum and good manners and high standards of behaviour are expected of all.
