I think the 1mm looks bigger than it is because the 5970 has a concave bezel which is fairly wide (but hidden well) making for a smaller dial size than the 5270. I like the 5270P and if I had the money would buy it immediately. But, it does not sing out as the perfect watch. I am not sure how the 5 Arabic numerals work just on the top. Perhaps the small squares around would have been the answer. The real plus to the 5270 to me over the previous perpetual chronographs is the much improved in-house movement. The dots make the dial a little bland as opposed to the neat format of the 5970 for sure. This watch will be highly limited and short lived, would be my guess, so the folks who get one will be very pleased I am sure.
