I believe that the standard folding clasp was the round one. Once I was told by Geneva Salon that the Ellipse one was originally designed for Golden Ellipse.

Dear Purists, Recently I bought a 5009J made in 1995 and it came with a foldingclap. If one would prefer a folding clap instead of the 'standard' prong buckle in the nineties which one was sold with a Gondolo? The Ellipse shaped or Calatrava round clasp? ...
I like the folding much more
but in order to wear it in a comfortable way, the strap needs to be correctly measured. Best, Kari
