In 1977, the Nautilus had a mixed reception, those "old farts" that felt a large sports watch did not have a place in the collection have been proved so very wrong. Today I would say, witha great deal of confidence that the Nautilus is the most saught after of all the Patek collections. From its humble beginings, we now have a chronograph and two moonphase complications. This year patek expanded on the collection with new versions of the 5980 and new ladies models, with elegant dials:
The new ladies versions have a sensational mix of sportiness with elegance, just as the philosophy of the original 3700 jumbo dictates. The only request I would have is that they make an automatic without the diamonds, for a more somber everyday appeal.

The chronograph in bi-metal, was the piece that surprised me the most. Not being a fan of bi-metal, I did not htink this would work, but once again, pictures do not portray the reality. The bi-metal with blue dial combination is perfect. If anyone like bi-metal, this is a piece they will surely desire.

Finally the spectacular rose gold version. Echoeing Iceman's thoughts here, never a fan of all gold watches, but if had to, it would be this one. The combination of rose and brown dial, is just one of those combinations that just works.
