Mario Draghi has challenged all the Bill Ackmans and Pimcos and alike (who where betting on a falling / ending Euro) at the Lions den (!!!) in a press conference at the Global investment Conference in London in July 2012 by saying this:
"Within our mandate, the ECB is ready to do whatever it takes to preserve the Euro. And believe me, it will be enough."
He than announced a financial program called OMT that has NEVER BEEN USED BY THE ECB!
He simply told those Ackmans: listen, we have much, much more money than you!
And it worked!
