Patek Philippe

One of my watch goals for the new year is to finally buy my first Patek Philippe after collecting watches for 15+ years. I'll probably have to let go of a few pieces in my collection, but hopefully by the end of 2016 I will have one. My preference is for ... 

1/ The budget is not the same. 2/ Finding a correct and unmolested one is not an easy game. Best, Nicolas

Is it more or less than a current 5711?

PP is a new world for me. So much to learn.

I think it will also depend on your budget (is it the 23K€ of a 5711 or the 30K€++ of a 3700?). Concerning material, white gold will open many more possibilities, maybe is it a door you might want to consider? I say that as you seem to say from your answe... 

Thanks Mark! I'm leaning toward a new 5711 at this point. I think I might save the hunt for a vintage 3700 once I'm more well versed in the nuances of vintage PP. From experience with vintage Rolex, Omega, and military watches there will be a learning cur...

What if PP went the route AP did with their 15202 in 2012 and made the Nautilus more like the original 3700 for its 40th anniversary?
