Photography

Recently "cazalea" from the Seiko Forum was in Japan to visit (surprisingly) two of Seiko's facilities. In order to do that he had to take the Shinkansen to Morioka... along the way he snapped the following photo out the window of the 300 kph bullet train...  

Great info Casey. I did read that our modern digital cameras can achieve that 1912 pic result by panning the camera at the same speed the car is moving, tried it a few times but haven't been able to reproduce it yet:)

Thanks Casey. That Lartigue image is so cool and you explained the technicalities of it well. Now if he would have held the camera so it would have been a top-to-bottom shutter movement ... :)
