Have you tried buying film in the UK today?
I preface this by revealing that my father worked for Kodak and Polaroid so film was a part of my childhood.
You wouldn't belive the boring hours in a dark, cold, wet, bathroom with our own projecting enlarger and development tanks!
As an experiment, I asked about buying film recently at chemists (pharmacy) and photography shops in our biggest city - London - even though I live in rural Wales. Its nearly impossible to find stocks in-store. A couple of specialist shops held stock in refridgerators but these were the sort of shops with in-house engineers who could restore vintage Hasselblad and Leica film cameras and mill their own spare parts. Thus, film is essentially dead for all but the most dedicated in the UK. By the way, the engineers were Japanese guys.
Japan is a different story with Fuji Film still alive.
Kodak is out of business and I don't know where people develop their Ektachrome stock after 2013???
Ilford Photo is gone.

MTF

Apologies for my late reply. It seems that Mrs. MTF wants the red dot and also seems to value haptics as well. I'd go have her try the C, Q, Dlux Typ 109, even the M in the Leica boutique. The C might be a good way to start her off. Fits in a bag. Good fo...
