There is something very compelling about the scene...
The feeling is very subliminal, very "just below the threshold of consciousness" - consciously, it's a bit cluttered and the eye doesn't really focus anywhere, but keeps getting drawn back to the pic...

Something compelled me..
to take a shot of this very ordinary scenario. Maybe it's the linear perspective that the canopy created along with the shadows, flower pots and benches that make up the leading lines to bring some dynamics to the composition. Whatever it is and I may not...

....the more that i get a camera in front of me, the more i come to realise that the best images are the ones that make us keep looking at it. Nice. I think there are a few interesting leading lines here....the plants on the left/benches on the right.... ...

at least for me dear Pa is clash of the worlds...people living "old school" way embedded in modern society I might be wrong but without that modern building in the top of frame it would not be so compelling Just my 2HRK before important game tonight Yours...

My eye is drawn to...
...the hat. It's the focal point for me and represents man...kind of lost between the natural and civilized world. It's very interesting and sometimes there's beauty or meaning in the most mundane scenes. Thanks for sharing.

There are hundreds of items in this picture,
yet there is nothing going on. No human activity. A very complex still-life. Dark and light and subtle color-changes. There is a ton of interesting stuff here. You have a great eye for a compelling picture.

People and street life have been my main focus, primarily for the emotional content but a quiet scene like this also speaks volumes and takes a keen eye to spot the subtleties. ...
The undercurrent for me...
is the hot steel city above the idyllic scene and all that seeming juxtaposition conjures up... particularly as the photographer was aware of the duality and included it. Very nice shot... where the foreground is full but underplayed. Casey
