FrX,
Some readers were puzzled by the format of the SIHH 2013 PuristS Summary Report.
There, we focused on the themes and messages from the brands. The SIHH is their opportunity to tell the clients the direction of the Collections and brands.
Now, the follow-up in-depth reports are for the clients to fill with passion, opinion and even...... a little information.

Thank you for your thoughts that I agree with mostly. I agree that there is a difference between the "Star of the Show" and the "Important Piece of the Show".

On the other hand, the clients (end-users and retailers) need the tangible goods, the attainable luxury, the next Gift -- for Piaget 2013, this is the 40 mm automatic Altiplano with Date; still the world's thinnest automatic date watch.
PuristS always are on the look out for the NBT (Next Big Thing). We like to spot the iconic watchmaker or watches that will become famous....or is it the other way around? We make famous the watches and watchmakers to become icons...hmmmm?

Still, the NBT (but they don't realise it yet) is the Limelight Gala with potential to become famous. A range of gem-set levels to suit all budgets and to become tangible luxury to a wide demographic spectrum. I hope Piaget can play the PPP game well: Product Positioning Price; to make this Collection the go-to shape for Piaget ladies. I see it like the Twenty-4 for Patek Philippe, the Happy Diamonds for Chopard and the Reine de Naples for Breguet.

Finally, we mention the Piaget integrated manufactures that were brought together so they can be master jeweller of watchmakers. Already integrating more than 40 professions that contribute to making a haute horlogerie watch, we can only hint at more 'integration' to come......really, we will tell more in future, when we can........
We will walk the walk to give you the talk.

Regards,
MTF
