Today, some watch snobs deride gem-setting and enamelling on watches as being too "bling" but they forget that always in horological history, the best watches had the best decorative arts applied. The giants like A.L. Breguet and F. Berthoud would have sent their best pieces to the best artisans before delivery to top clients.
