my 1% rule
First of all, congratulations! Those are both very nice highly collectible RMs.
As much as I'd like to add either of these to my collection, doing so would violate my self-imposed 1% rule. Basically, I'm limiting the maximum amount spent on my collection to 1% of net worth. Maybe I'm a bit conservative, but any more than 1% seems excessive. If I were to add either one of those watches to my collection, I'd have to sell both my Patek 3970G and Patek 5970G, but I'm not willing to part with them.

of baseplate "per say", being replaced with a very light construction allowing a complete view of the mechanism enclosed in such a large and thick "cavity" that makes it so enjoyable to the eye. What do you think?

Rules doesn't really play in this craziness.
Just break the rules for something that will quench your thirst and satisfied your hunger.
it's a slippery slope
First it's 5%, and then well might as well make it 10%, and then I suppose even 25% will still work. Pretty soon, it's 100% and I'm on the street corner hitting up passers by so I can get that next watch. Eric von Schonberg
One of the advantages of thin forearm / wrist
is that you can wear two chunky watches side-by-side and still they are on-the-wrist! MTF
