Thank you both for your replies.
I guess that lack of quality control abounds in all aspects of product life ... things just aren't what they used to be. In addition, I agree that today's youth could care less about "pride in productivity," but the world's population in general seems only interested in moving product, collecting what they think is due them and then moving on. It is a real shame but at least some of us have memories of a time when a producer cared about the quality of his product, whatever it may have been.
As for my watch, well, only time will tell.

I have heard similar stories about every watch brand, even Rolex which is the most reliable IMHO. I hope they will fix your watch soon and you will be able to enjoy it at last. Cheers Jeff
