Hope you enjoy the heft of the silver, the dial which seems to pop (an optical illusion from the crystal), and the nicely milled surfaces on the watch.
The watch tarnishes very slightly, to a yellowish hue. I tried jewellery cleaning dips too, which doesn’t work and the yellow hue remained. The only method which worked was the one I described, yes, to dip in in slightly warmed salt water, in contact with an aluminium foil. It comes out brilliant again.
This piece is one of my most worn pieces. I just love it so much.
Oh yes, before I go..the silver can be scratched by using a toothbrush (fine soft bristled toothbrush). I never brushed using a toothbrush again after I tried to clean the lug area with it, and found swirl marks.
New Silverware
After patiently waiting I got the call today and now own my first Tudor. I was slightly cautious about buying a silver watch, but curiosity got the better of me and I’m looking forward see how the silver case develops over time or trying Cookies’ home che...
Magnificent! If it does tarnish you can always add it to the weekly silverware polishing roster! ;)
But seriously, many congratulations on such a wonderful bit of BB58 silver!
That’s what I have been told.
But i see quite a lot of talk about tarnishing on this. Be interesting to see how/if it affects it and to be honest that was a bit of the allure in buying it over a steel version.

The dial tone is quite unique I think and really changes with the light and the silver is a nice variation from my other steel watches.
