Certainly not Rolex! So, if youn live in a country where Bamford and Sons doesn't have an AD ( ) and as Rolex won't accept to service / repair any of these modified watches, who will be in trouble, eeeh? Aesthetically speaking, to each his own, this is Ea... 

No warranty from Rolex.... Even now, the rolex restrict the parts supply to official dealer for repairing in HK. In past, dealer used an old part to exchange a new part with cost. But rolex was starting to centralize the repair service, and no parts suppl... 

Given the mechanical simplicity of Rolex I don't think it is difficult to service. Finding parts will be more challenging but I am sure they are available. - SJX

keep overhaul every 3-4years can keep all parts running under clean lubricants which prevent the wear and tear from dirty lubricant. So Rolex is a good choice for "mod". But why don't they try to use CVD DLC treatment? I searched on google by "carbon CVD ... 

I do NOT want to start a battle about prevcentive maintenance. I will say that an authorized Rolex, Blancpain, etc dealer who sponsors here told me that routine maintenance on most mechanical watches is a waste of time and certainly money, unless the watc... 

I would like to say some phenomena... I am living in HK and always traveling to China. I know very well about watch AD, please don't ask me the reason In HK and PRC, most of the AD won't ask customers to overhaul their watches, since ADs sold just TOO man... 

to this kind of things, until I put a first generation Pro Hunter on the wrist...and it is really a killer ! But of course, it seems very "understated" compared to the latest stuff that was realized: only case PVD coating and a Nato strap. Cheers Jeff

But for me, it will be a no go. I prefer the watches as they are from the manufacturer. The longest I will go is another strap on a strap watch. If the watch is fitted with a bracelet, than I believe it should stay. Its the same when I play golf, I use th... 

However I am skeptical regarding non-factory modifications.... But, now I am curious to see them in metal.... Black watches are very trendy today... I wonder how they are going to be regarded in 5-10 years? thanks for posting.... cheers

...are processes (Physical Vapour Deposition and Chemical Vapour Deposition, repectively) not materials, the 'scratchproofness' will depend on what they deposit on the case, it's thickness, etc. Thanks for posting that coated DeepSea. Not a fan of those, ... 

just like modding one's car. why not?? moreover, its all comestic. AMG kit on a regular E class? Brabus bodykit on a S class? do they only sell brand new PVDed watches? or would they accept a commission on exisitng piece?

And also the "Aqua Pearl" Rolex. Aqua Pearl proposes "skeletonized" Rolex, in fact, the dial is opened, not the plate of the caliber. For example, you can see the whole date wheel. Strange. Fr.Xavier
