Later today, possibly tomorrow, i will post my first review of 2014. It will be of a watch I have been thinking about for a while. A modern Rolex too. However, ahead of that review, I am interested in hearing from people about which modern Rolex (defined ...
....My reason is simple...I think Tudor have done a phenomenal job at releasing great tributes to their vintage history. Rolex, on the other hand, as most vintage collectors will moan, have paid very little attention to providing tributes. I can only imag...
.....if you want to stretch it a bit OK. Your Dayto would be considered somewhere between vintage and modern...so not that far back. I am thinking last 10 years i guess.
As well as the YM: Without forgetting the Milgauss, in its Rasta Version.... Yes, this is my favourite Trio, in the moderns. Supposing that Moderns=Current. Best, Nicolas ...
...the Superluminova and the loupe on sapphire, so I would say that it is not the survey for me (or maybe the brand?) :) I appreciate, however, a couple of New Rolexes: the 116509 and the 116619. 2 WG watches, who would have thought...
...i love my sapphire SD, you know, i wear it so much...but i can't consider it vintage only for the T<25... Despite this, I prefer it to any post-1999 16600. i respect yours ;)
My 16610 Sub is my favorite modern Rolex. It is perfectly functional, classic and different: Up until a year ago, I would have nominated my 16600 SD which is most likely the best stock modern Rolex. But now I prefer the Sub because it is flatter and has e...
I've been looking at Subs for quite a while now and appreciate the Milgaus Green glass as well since I saw it in the metal. But the Rolex I would like to acquire, as it personifies the Rolex quality, accuracy and noble heritage (from racing mainly), is th...
I went 50% of the way and had that dial and bezel fitted to my 116520: It makes for a nice watch, indeed, but somehow I can never fall in love with a modern Daytona. ...
I was wandering if that was possible as I think I saw one for sale in the past. Can I ask you how you did this? Does Rolex still agrees to accept it for a Service? Did you acquire the dial from official AD or from someone who possessed one? Congratz for y...
The parts are availble on the known watch forum sales corners quite frequently. I have all my Rolex serviced privately by a Rolex trained watchmaker in Switzerland, so there is no issue with warranties for me.
Luckily I own it…. I also like: Daytona everose(everose dial) for summers on the cote d 'azure New daytona platinum brown bezel….for the same reasons as above… On a more purist note: ceramic bezel GMT Milgauss green glass Mo ...
... None. Hahaha! No, seriously. None of them currently in production do anything for me. For those in production some time in the past 10 years (as was a second definition offered above), that is too easy - the 16600. In my opinion, one of the absolute b...
.. Curious coincidence, that also your favorite of the moderns , at present still, is this same Millgauss GV... Brothers in Arms ?? - Also here.. i like mine because it is rock solid, colorful, and with a clear dial, great 2-color luminosity included - al...
....but i suspect this GMT will become my very favourite modern Rolex....even more than the Milgauss. Though to get there, I will need to see how it feels on the wrist for some time.
.. as you said, it will not be a surprise for you and not the Q, IF, - but apparently only the Q, WHEN.. So you are at least 2 steps ahead.. Hmmmm.. Still curious, these coincidences, aren't they ? Always a pleasure to hear & read from you.. We will more ...
Sure , you know this stereotypic inner dialogue: Patience , says the brain Why ? ,, And what for, says the heart, etc etc Where are the pills ?? Best, hs
..thx for the kind and ever welcome medical advice ! Slowly , but steadily I'm moving into that somewhat matured 'wisdom'.. LoL ! I just want to keep enough flexibility.. To be open for several routes ! And there might be some very tempting ones, I can se...
.. perfect shape , this Dr Mamadu, you know.. ;) Thx, dear friend with My kindest greetings, hs PS: .. and as R., my wife, now has her new piece of joy, in the modern she has a nice balance to her Vintage 159 - which is good for me, pleasure included, as ...
.. LOVE the 159 ! - And R never would separate from that one, I happily second that Also her 159 has to await my 159 / SHOM, one day maybe.. Best, all is well, :) :) hs PS: ( The whole " Which to Go vs Which to Stay" on WS this week ), was pure hypothetic...
.. sounds great (!), thank you ; but you are serious , that the other half is Vintage Reverso, a..., a Vintage GMT And maybe also the modern GMT II ?? A pretty Big Half - BUT in terms of findability and/ or taking the opportunity, you might be right.. - S...
