Not too small at all in my opinion...
Although I bought this for my wife, she's only worn it a couple times (she doesn't like wearing watches). So I've been wearing it quite a lot.
At 225 pounds and 6'1" tall, I'm not a small guy, and I have no problem wearing a 34mm watch.
