Rolex Explorer II 16550.

Ok, tis is a Tiffany, but this is not the most important for me.

The most attractive point is this superb patina. And the fact that the dial seems, on this picture at least, in very good condition.

Credit: Christies.

And I like this powerful font of the numbers on the bezel.

I have the rail cream dial, but I would love to get a black dialed version of this reference, especially with such a patina!

Best,

Nicolas

They're breaking lots of taboos, who knows, the crown may dip its toes in vintage colored lume!

Interesting enough

One of my best friends daily is a black dial ex 2 similar to this one but with a luminova dial and we often swap watches. The stamped clasp ate into my wrist so badly my skin was getting cut ... I loved the slim case but my wrist shape doesnt seem to work...

If only it didn't have that Tiffany stamp...

Did Rolex have a similar relationship with Tiffany like Patek has?

Or does Tiffany stamp which ever watches it chooses to? I just don’t think they’d do that without permissions. The black dial Explorer 2 impresses me each time.

:)))

Nice watch; would love to know the back story for this and similar models. In addition, back in the day did these sell for same recommended price as a Rolex from an AD, at a discount or even slight premium?
