Because of concern about radiation readings, Rolex switched from Radium to Tritium in the 1960s. As a means of showing its customers that even the tritium was very negligible, the T<25 shows the degree of radiation that could be expected from the amount of Tritium used....essentially less than 25 units on a radiation scale ....which equates to minimal.
