It’s fascinating that a lot of people really enjoy their own watches for their own reasons. But yes collectors, well as much as growing up, we little by little want to do or be something different among our peers of among other people in general. As children, we soon grow up and become more distinct as an individual. That’s how we express our fondness of watches or a certain watch in our unique way. Although our “favorite” is never just one thing, having something unique from the rest is something also compelling. I am very delighted to have a submariner with a unique “f”, and a lovely polar exp ii, which is in itself distinct.

Welcome to the community. Your Rolex looks very good especially with the full set. In my opinion the LGF thing got rather overhyped but that doesn’t in anyway detract from the fact that your classic Sub looks great.

I also sought out an LGF and whilst it probably doesn’t trade much of a premium it certainly looks a lot nicer IMO. On Hulks Rolex went from the stubby f back to a longer f so I think the market must agree.
