With Rolex we have similar tastes, NIco.
The only vintage Rolex models that interested me enough to purchase were the 1665 DRSD, 1680 Red Sub, and 1675 GMT. And the only modern model is a 126660 JC, which I recently got while selling the older 116660 (purchased in 2008). I LOVE the 126660 and have been wearing it almost every day for the past 2 months. Although it may look too big for my wrist (6"/154mm) and hang over it a bit, as shown below, it's extremely comfortable. The dial is beautiful to look at, and it's just such a cool watch!

For me the Cameron is one of the best modern Rolex. And in the last version 126660 also very comfortable to wear. In terms of size: still significantly smaller than a 47mm Panerai. 😊 P.S.: With 16.5 - 17cm I have a rather small wrist! ...

The Double Red is really something. I am not enamoured with the Cameron. The proportions for me are not right.
I think the 116600 is a future classic for a number of reasons, short run, mat dial and good proportions. R
