Out of reach unfortunately

To learn that this is the first mechanical complication for a GS (except for GMTs). I had just assumed, without thinking, that GS had previously made one. Very impressive first effort, obviously. Pricing confirms that GS wants to be viewed as on par with ... 

but this is the first series production, serious complication model for Grand Seiko. Credor is used to pricing their jewelry watches in this range, for wealthy Japanese customers but this is one of the first forays out into the stratosphere for Grand Seik...  

Fascinating to see the evolution of this company. I remember not that long ago when most people outside Japan thought of the GS brand (putting aside Credor) as a value proposition with excellent finishings flying under the radar. No longer. And I don’t sa... 

I completely agree about the days of “under the radar” but sadly, no longer!
