Why Spring Drive in Seiko's most high end models?
I always wondered this, why does Seiko put the spring drive movement in their most expensive or limited models? Case in point the Credor Eichi and minute repeaters. Nothing wrong with the SD movement IMO but as a "hybrid", i think it does not make too muc...

My concern comes
From the point of longevity, it after all has some quartz/electrical elements inside. Dont know it if can stand the test of time.
Mechanical watches need periodic mantainance more than..
quartz watches. Are you concerned that in several decades the ICs will not be available?

Because I will not be available either. It is a valid thought, but 100 years ago more or less there were not even any wristwatches ...
Simple.
This is the highest technology that Seiko has developed for timekeeping. The Tesla of Timekeeping. Took them more than a decade to perfect. Of course it is in their most high end watches.
