I had the same idea..
I knew it was going to have irritating gaps but I wanted to test drive it on my 773. Now the question is, do I get another one to fit or an original seiko dive strap. The ones that I had before sucked and became brittle after a couple of years.

Mine does not have gaps like this. What size is yours at the lugs? Mine was 22mm I believe.
