I like solar charging a lot
more than battery replacement…a real toss up in some ways between fully mechanical and spring drive….I prefer mechanical (especially the Omega 8900 / 9900 series because of gauss) but a real case can be made for solar.

I agree - efficiency improvements mean it’s now taken over from Kinetic -will it someday replace single-use batteries?
Not if you keep your watches in a drawer, or live in a rainy climate, or always wear long sleeves. But otherwise, an excellent power source. Most expensive solar watch ever? The gold Astron Tribute Cazalea ...
