I noticed that as well ....
... since it is a rather large area, chances of damages are high. However, there must be some kind of protection from ageing, so I assume the binding agent used is hard enough to withstand shocks. And the sapphire lenses often used to protect the illuminated dot in diving bezels are not invulnerable as well. ONly in the most recent macro shots I realized that this tiny sapphire lens on my Breitling Raven is broken in half.

Have you noticed the pip at 12 has no protection to cover the lume? I haven’t scraped mine yet but I think this a big a flaw of the ceramic bezel. They added ceramic to make more reliable than the standard aluminum but at the same time made it more fragil...
