I’d no idea that quartz watches had all those parts. When you change the battery there’s not that much to see. Interesting to note that the more upmarket ones look more impressive but I don’t think we’ll be seeing display backs on quartz watches. Thanks f...

cazalea, Thanks for the disassembly images. Some have commented on the surprising number of components. In the high-end quartz movement, the going train is just like mechanical movements. The decoration is just as good. The only differences are the batter...  

Yes, I think we expect a tiny black box, comparable to the innards of a quartz digital watch, with no moving parts -- when actually there are lots of tiny things going on their merry way
