Told to me by a neighbor who works for NOAA (Naval Oceanographic and Atmospheric Agency). He had been to all 7 oceans in 15 years by ship, and his Seiko diver needed a service.
Plus, the strap was truly disgusting. I asked if I could replace it, and he said,
“Ok, but save it. That was hand-sewn for me by one of my assistants, using the tail of a strap from my binoculars. The original Seiko rubber strap broke in the middle of the Indian Ocean”.
I put it in my ultrasound cleaner for a couple hours and you wouldn’t believe the gunk that came out of that nylon strap.
Cheers,
Cazalea
