that when you read left to right, top to bottom, you read the smallest to largest time increments measured. Kind of how like when you write the date on a letter, you do not write the year first, then the month, then the day, because it looks odd. Does that make sense?

I wonder why
the Heuer 02 has the hours totaliser at 9 like the Rolex 4130. All of the classic chronographs have that totaliser at 6 in a 3-6-9 layout and it makes logical sense. The Heuer 02's layout doesn't make sense.
Why is this "logical sense"? Just because you are used to it?
Design is one thing, functionality the other. A tourbillion looks nicer in the 6 position than in any other. The Heuer-02 movement has the choice of a 60 sec. counter or a tourbillion... ;-)

Which is why on the IWC Portugesier Annual Calendar IW503502, the date is read as May 23, Saturday. as an example. Aesthetics, no other reason
