Further to my burger quest from LA and Vegas I have found this Holloween burger which is in sale during October at BK.... Apparently in Japan they use squid ink but in Europe it is food colouring which according to the press gives you luminous green poop....  

I haven't had a burger in quite some time, so it looks delicious to me! AT

Plus they use BBQ sauce instead of ketchup.....tasted exactly the same as a Whopper, but after my trip to the States nothing comes close to what I had over there so it was not very nice...but it was very interesting Andy.

So what was the best burger you had while here in the states?

Went to In N Out burger and Shake Shack....both superb. On the gourmet burger front it would go to 'Toby Keiths I Love This Bar and Grill' which was just a fabulous burger. Nothing in the UK now comes close to anything I had over there..!! Ha ha I had to ... 

But Haché in Camden had some pretty tasty offerings. No idea if they are still any good or how they would compare to what you sampled in the U.S.

Also they opened a shake shack and five guys in Covent garden

if you come back to the states andy you should try five guys burger and fries. It is a chain that started on the east coast but all they do is burgers and hot dogs. They make a fantastic burger and the fries are unbelievable. Stewart

So I will give it another go and compare with what you guys have over there, There is also Shake Shack in London so I will give that a go when I'm next down there before Xmas and let you know what it is like Thanks, Andy.

You need to try the bone marrow burger at Eureka in University Ctr near UCI.

I'll have to take your recommendation on that. It's not like I pass through UTC on a daily basis!

It's nice to hear someone trying out my favorite spot, and of course liking it too! And oh yes, I have. I was there back in September having dinner with my family before heading back to Irvine. My family likes to take advantage of the live music on the pa... 

I haven't been up that way, had a road trip planned but couldn't make it. Vineyard House is on my list so I can't wait to try it. ErikS, is there a recommended item on the menu? -MW

I had quite the week. Now of course people all have different taste, but I would have to recommend: the tomato bisque soup (not always on menu), and/or vineyard salad, seafood ravioli, and if you're lucky they'll have lavender crème brûlée. Really any of ...

But BK tends to put me off - somehow do not like their burgers at all...

But I don't really like either BK or McD's anymore either. Andy.

It's an interesting spin on the festivities but not a selling point for me.

But it was funny to try it I think both BK and McD's don't really have much going for them when there are much better places around. Hope your having fun.? Andy.

I've been placing nicely in poker with the last nine games I have two first, two seconds, a third, a bubble and three zilch's. My Croatian friend is teaching me how to use English on a two wall bank to sink a ball in front of a corner pocket. All is well ... 

and just found out there is a Shake Shack in London....ha ha. It's a tiny one in Covent Garden so time will tell if it is the same quality as Vegas baby. Fingers crossed for your poker competitions Andy.

I'll have to try it next time I go to London or Vegas (lol). I just enjoyed an unusual treat using a hamburger bun. I have the fixings for a chili dog but no bun. : ( Since the chili dog doesn't know the difference, I shredded the burger bun, mixed in the... 

But of course if you ever find yourself in London I'll pop down from Macc Interesting take on a hot dog.....did it taste as good as it sounds..? I didn't try many of those over there except at the Baseball...but then again Ming got me all the food there t... 

Boston; where I wore a London Fog trench coat. : ) The chopped up hot dog hamburger bun with chili was good. I should have topped it off with cheese and onions to make it better... Next time maybe. In Jr High, the local grocer made the best hot dog chili ... 

I had one at the Las Vegas airport yesterday. After a week of overpaying for quality food, it seemed the appropriate way to return to common life, uncommonly. It definitely did not taste "A-1 infused" -- the mayonnaise was fairly overpowering, strangely -...  

I'm sure any side effects will be imminent....unless of course yours was made with squid ink..? But yes like you it was rather unremarkable yet interesting and I had to try one. Andy.

They do a A1 steak sauce flavor for the US variant, haven't had a chance to try it: -MW ...  

But don't get too excited as it is a BK..!! Ha ha I don't think yours have squid ink in either so an interesting development will occur Andy.

The steak sauce sounds nice.....We have BBQ sauce over here for this Halloween burger which is OK. The squid ink I'm talking about is to make the bun black....Japan use squid ink but Europe and I believe the US just use black food colouring which, as has ... 

... and my old college roommate forewarned me about the, uh, luminous green aftereffects! ...  

What did you think of it..? It tasted just like a standard Whopper to me which therefore wasn't really very good but I had to try one just for fun....the after effects were interesting...ha ha ha Yours, Andy.
