A weekend at the Blade Show…. (Warning: this post has many shots to view!)
Hello dear friends!
As many friends here know, besides being a watch lover and collector I also have other passions … and obsessions, e.g. knives and guns (both antique and modern) and pens.
Regarding knives I have been collecting them for a bit more than fifty years and wrote and published five books about them (in Spanish).
Past week I assisted to what is considered the biggest Knife Show of the World: the Blade Show, in Atlanta, Ga, USA on the first days of June, every year.
This Big Show gathers a little less than a thousand expositors and thousands of visitors at the Cobb Convention Center facilities.
Shows as this one is a true feast for knife aficionados and knifemakers who have the opportunity of viewing fantastic custom made knives, factory knives, machinery and materials for making them and the opportunity of meeting friends, colleagues, makers and discover the latest models or finding antique pieces for their collections.
Here some pictures taken during the three days of the event.

Flying from Miami to Atlanta. The watch chosen for the event: my faithful Tudor BB 54

Thanks to my good friends knifemakers I got the coveted exhibitor pass which allowed me to enter the big facilities during the Thursday previous to the Friday official opening.

It’s very interesting to view the backstage of a big show: people hard working to raise the booths, stands and table

Everything has to be finished and ready at the end of the day to start early in Friday. Hundred of visitors usually stand camping outside the building during this previous day and night to be the first to enter when the Show opens on Friday!
