Apologies for the confusion if there is any: I would like to learn about sailing - thirsty for that knowledge and skill!

My advice is to get down to the local yacht club and talk to them about crewing. Either that or get yourself somthing like a Sabot, something you can get in the water by yourself. So you're not dependent on others in order to get out and practice.

When you get back to L.A., they have sailing classes and boats to rent (when you are ready to launch on your own) at Redondo Beach King Harbor. -MW
