TimeOut

Thanks SJX and Nicolas

Thank you! I hope both of you enjoyed the post. This is a hard place to keep a 'secret'...!

Another shot over the bath-house and the town of Vals: reminded me of what someone once said: "Die Sonne scheint noch!"--the sun still shines--an excellent Stoic encouragement in these uncertain times...

The interior shot is a much-loved postcard I purchased from the gift-shop--certainly not mine. Yes, whoever took that shot, it carries the ambience and character of that space well. But in reality, the space is much more 'populated'--seniors in bathing suits chatting like little children, and bathrobes hung everywhere on those bronze railings, and those stones stamped with wet footprints large and tiny. I don't think I'd ever forget the smell inside this place--a mixture of faint chlorine, scent of aromatic oils and...people wearing damp clothings. Somehow the space took my breath away and I did not seem to mind that smell then...

The Ocean is indeed a good traveler companion--I appreciate its lightness and anti-wear fatigue for the class of watches. A parting shot of my departing 9:32 train from Nurnberg...

I like SJX's post of an Ocean by the Sea! I remember that. The Bay Area is one of the best places to live on the west coast--wine, snow, fall colors, books and fog within miles of each other.

I did see a few vintage watches (IWCs 1950s) in excellent condition this time round, mostly in Zurich. A shop named "Uhren" along Rhinemarkt in the old town has more than a few very old (but in excellent conditions) IWC-Porsche watches all lined up in a straight row, something you don't see very often. Also saw a fairly good condition Futurematic but priced beyond my reach. The only one I managed to find an interesting and very affordable is a Swatch Renzo Piano Jelly! Unfortunately however, I did not purchase it.
