The ' * ' button is for AF/FE Lock, Index, and Reduce function while the rectangular icon button is for AF point selection and magnify function. -MW

It's nice to have a small compact camera but sometimes it becomes difficult to grip. I guess when you get used to the dimensions it isn't a problem. PuristS 'Andy' posted a pic of his Canon M with a 70-200 ( ) ! :) -MW
