Thank you for your kind words and insights! When I saw the initial press photos, I was hoping the Maltese pattern would be more subtle, almost akin to something like the Breguet secret signature that you only see in flashes with certain movements of the wrist and in certain lighting. However, after seeing your post and amazingly crisp photos, I agree it is unfortunately too heavy handed an application, and goes against the usually discrete design choices I appreciate from the brand. I am also a fan of clean designs and dial symmetry, which is another strike against them. It is too bad, as I otherwise enjoy the execution of the Traditionelle Openface pieces. I still hope to be able to see at least a few of the novelties in the metal, but I will remain more than satisfied with the pieces I have!

...I particularly liked the new Traditionelle Openface pieces in platinum, though they are sadly out of my budget. Oh well, I guess I will just have to continue enjoying my current VC pieces for now (not too shabby for a "consolation prize", if I say so m...

Thank you! I agree it's not too hard to find a situation where at least one of them works as a companion. The fact that they are "under the radar" and most people have no idea how special they are adds to their appeal for me.
