Congrats, Stewart!
The Toledo 1952 is a lovely watch, and I like it best in the rose gold like you have. While the watch is small by the standards of today, when the original "cioccolatone" came out in the 1950's it was enormous relative to other watches being produced at that time! I have posted in the past that the vintage triple calendar cioccolatone is a grail watch for me.
The movement is still based on the JLC as from those early posts you referenced. It's been a while since I handled one, and I don't recall if their is a pusher on the side of the case, perhaps between the lugs, to quick set the day or not. The instructions on the USB device should be definitive. I don't have an answer for you on the minute hand either. If the watch is working well then I wouldn't worry about it!
Since the watch is automatic, you probably won't have to use the crown all too often. While I am not a big fan of watch winders, I might make an exception for this watch, both the keep the calendar current and to avoid using the inconvenient crown as much as possible.
Wear it in the best of health!

Meant to mention in the first post that I initially thought they sent me the watch without instructions. It took me about an hour to realize one of the items in the kit sent was a data stick. Not being very computer savy, I needed my wife to open the file...
Congrats, Stewart!

I am going to wind the watch a little daily to keep it running. Just wanted to give a balanced opinion, I don't think there are any perfect watches or at least not any that I will own. The crown and lack of quickset day are far out weighed by the positive...
congrats Stewart

have a display back, thought at first maybe staying true to the historical model, but their other historiques have display backs. I will post some wrist shots and see if I can get the wife to pose for one, or I will model it for her. Thanks for the reply....
