My small VC collection
Hi Bill,
As you know, I already put the story of my first VC on this forum - as my very first post. Here is a pointer to that post:
vacheron.watchprosite.com
Since then, I've picked up 2 other VCs, a 1908 Chronometer Royal pocket watch - which is in VC's hands getting a full service and Certificate of Authenticity and my newest acquisition - an "old" style Overseas Chronometer with silver dial.
I've caught the VC bug and am only interested in VC, but I know I'll never have a collection of 31 like you did (I could never afford it). I'm not a huge collector and I do not expect to sell any of these watches. Each has purpose and meaning to me:
- 31-Day Retrograde - I still love this watch, to me and my wife it combines classic AND different (with the retrograding date). It is also what I wear to important events and functions.
- 1908 Chronometer Royal - I love the history and place CR has at VC. It use it for really formal events - it's a great conversation starter.
- Overseas - perfect for my daily use.
I hope to add more in the future, but would be totally happy with just my current, albeit, small collection. I'm more interested in the vintage pieces right now - they speak to me much more :- )
Best Regards, Dan

Perhaps I am showing that I am a little wet behind the ears.... But I am wondering about these auction catalogs of which you speak. I am debating on an overseas dual time, or possibly a UN diver depending on the financial conditions.... The US$ is really ...
