Vacheron Constantin

Online Antiquorum description....

classified this watch as having an "enlarged display" but the QMVC catalog (lot #176) omitted this description.  It wasn't listed as a driver's watch and the angle doesn't really assist while driving.  The original version had a lepine pocketwatch movement so the subseconds had to be opposite the stem.  With the new version they were free to place the subseconds anywhere but I agree with the earlier post that it looks unbalanced.  Now with the Breguet style numbers, they should perhaps have followed Breguet tradition and placed the subdial down at 5 o'clock?  That would also have been historically consistent with other vintage VC watches that followed this distinctly Breguet subdial placement.
