Thank you, Robert ... as it turns out, my mom was able to find the original papers. I don't have the details yet, except that it is white gold, as you surmised. Will post more when I learn more. I am fortunate to have a somewhat slender wrist, like my father, so it does fit. The case does have gold lettering on both inside lid panels with "Vacheron Constantin Geneve" printed.
