The engraving to make the goats must be seen in the metal
Pictures really don't do it justice. The depth of engravings is only a fraction of a millimeter and the background is accomplished through Grand Feu Enameling.
That said, my personal preference for a goat watch is this:
I prefer this goat image, which utilizes the same engraving technique. But the marquetry used to create the background creates an overall image and impression that I really like.

Even in my worst nightmares, I would not wear a watch with a goat on the dial... I find these watches old-fashioned. Fx

for those East Asians born in the zodiac year of the goat for eg, I think this watch may still appeal to them. Eg I showed my wife this and she asked me if there is a female version (when I told her it's 40mm and may be too big for ladies). :) Unfortunate...

But I'm biased. VC also has a nice mountain goat motif which I prefer compared to this zodiac version. VC is a master in this field. Very impressive pieces of art, all of them! See pics below. Thanks Gordon for the post! :) Cheers Robin ...
The blue dial goat should be platinum
This series only in RG and platinum if I'm not wrong Nicolas. The platinum case with the blue dial is very nice but extremely hard to find with only 12 per year per zodiac sign Cheers Robin

VC is certainly going through the Chinese Zodiac....
so I suspect we'l come all the way back around to the dragon theme which started this idea. These pieces don't resonate with me though I recognize the skill that goes into making them. My favorite Metiers d'Art pieces are those that integrate complication...

I have a soft spot for that kind of VCs ...
but the motive doesn´t speak to me. Still they are very nice, but the one shown by Dan is even nicer/more special to me. Best, Oliver
